Tom Hardy's Bane is going to over shadow Heath Ledgers Joker?
Over shadow Ledger's Joker? Not that that would be impossible, anything could happen, I just find it unlikely. Ledger really pushed himself into that role, and we all know what happened during that. Coupled with maybe the greatest villainous role we've seen since Darth Vader and the fact that he died afterwards, people will prob be hard pressed to even admit it if they felt Hardy ends up being better. But, it certainly would be a treat if he was. Hardy is a good actor, this'll be a great opportunity for him to become a great actor. @ dan1 its Ledgers performance of his life, yes, something to be proud of that is very memorable. But in likely hood if Hardys performance is up to much scrap people may be diverted from that wall they have put up that "No were not going to like this more than TDK!" and actually instead be clasped and transported back into the Dark Knight lore instead of being fixated on Heaths previous performance, to actually let go alas encourage and welcome the new! @ zak-ferguson I totally hear what you're saying, dude. But as my buddy @ narrator likes to point out, maybe the point isn't for TDKR to be liked more than TDK. It will likely have a different tone and feel. Where Begins focused squarely on the "lore" of Batman as you put it, TDK then focused on the cause and effects Batman's crusade had on Gotham in the form of Joker and his followers. Who knows what route TDKR will take to close things off. I'm assuming fairly personal, since this is it, the end. In which case, sure, Hardy has a chance to make it pretty dramatic. Regardless of how he ends up, whether he surpasses Ledger or not in terms of greatness, people will look back at this trilogy and have a lot of fun picking apart the themes and ideas that are bigger than the actual characters themselves, a trademark of Nolan's. Yeah, there's no way Hardy is going to surpass Ledger's performance. And -- for argument's sake -- even if there was the slightest chance that he could, which there isn't, he'd have to do it with a significantly smaller amount of screen time seeing as how he's going to be sharing the stage with about 10 other top-flight actors. No way this happens. I think we should be watching out for Anne Hathaway's Catwoman :) As for Tom, I don't think he can since the Joker was so much more complex, psychological and insane character, something that is very hard to do in which Ledger succeeded with. How Did Heath Ledger Die - News
Just before he died, Heath Ledger had an inkling he might get a statuette for his performance as The Joker in "The Dark Knight," which earned him a posthumous best supporting actor Oscar Sunday. After alluding to it on the podium, the Ledger family
@slysnide That he completely engulfed himself into the role, and then later died. And though it might not have helped with his sleeping problems to begin with, I don't think it was directly responsible for killing him, either. The drugs did that.

The Dark Knight pushed that idea to its limit, showing in no uncertain terms that Batman's success in crushing the mob had created a void that Heath Ledger's Joker had to fill. And now we're getting much the same idea on Doctor Who.

Occasionally a celebrity overdose will attract attention – Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson – but they are specks in a growing mountain of human mortality. The White House last month said the abuse of prescription drugs had become the

Few people know the emptiness and sadness that takes place when a parent’s bond between a child and parent is severed with the breakup of a relationship. The mainstream news media fails to cover the many suicides and the hurt that family court does to families that drives parents to take their lives. I am not saying that Heath Ledger took his live over this issue. However, many parents will do crazy things when the court system is only going to award sole custody to one parent and not the other which creates an unnatural inbalance.
Ledger was very distraught over the separation from his child. It seems that people around him failed to see warning signs that he might have been suffering from depression and needed help. He was reported “dressed like a homeless guy” in public on numerous occasions and spent Thanksgiving and Christmas alone when before he spent this holidays with his ex and child.
Ledger’s own parents divorced when he was 11-years-old and he difficulty dealing with it as a child and got into drug abuse as an escape. He felt close to both his parents and blamed himself. He credited getting into acting helped him deal with his dark emotions he felt about his parents divorce. The court psychologists parrot off that children are really resilient and get over these situations easily. I beg to differ, these issues carry on into their adult relationships and repeat especially when the break up is contentious. Spending four days per month with a child is hardly a relationship with a parent and child, but this is sadly the norm in the United States which adversarial lawyers and judges encourage fighting between parents because it generates revenue and profits for the courts.
Children should not have to choose which parent, they should get both parents 50/50 equally. Besides equal parenting is becoming norm in Europe and studies prove that equal parenting benefits the children, parents, and taxpayers all around. Let’s prevent tragic deaths like Heath Ledger and other parents and promote 50-50 equal parenting for all children. Visit CRISPE.org and learn more about the benefits of equal parenting.
