Joseph S. Covalucci Jr., 58

Everett Firefighter

Joseph S. Cavalucci Jr., a lifelong Everett resident, died on September 12 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 58 years old.

Born in Everett and a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, he was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam era and has been an active duty Everett firefighter for 25 years.

He was the beloved son of the late Joseph S. and Catherine T. (Sullivan); brother of Mary C. White of Raynham, James of Barnstead, NH and the late Claire Covalucci. He was preceded in death by his companion, Rhoda.

His funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett, Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Richard “Dickie” Moschella of Everett, formerly of Orient Heights, East Boston, died on September 13.

A Wonderland Park employee, he was the beloved husband of the late Joanne (Lavenia), with whom he shared 20 years of marriage; father of his wife’s son, Mark Sweazey, of Everett; dear brother of Michael A. Moschella and his wife, Joanne, of Beverly and Janice Jones and her husband, Ron, of East Boston; cherished uncle of five and granduncle of two.

His funeral will be held from Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St., Revere, Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, East Boston, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
