Romney: Make US No. 1 in Job Creation
Itt Romney signaled that the economy will be his primary issue in his 2012 presidential bid, saying that President Barack Obama “has failed America.”“For millions of Americans, the economy is in crisis today,” he said. “Unless we change course, it will be in crisis for all of us tomorrow.”
"From my first day in office my No. 1 job will be to see that America once again is No. 1 in job creation," he said as he officially announced his candidacy in New Hampshire, home of the 2012 campaign’s first presidential primary.
Romney said he believes in an America where “ innovation and hard work propelled the greatest economy in the world.”
Obama, by contrast, has taken the country in a different direction, Romney said.
Faced with an economy in crisis , Obama made things worse by borrowing more money, raising taxes on entrepreneurs, piling on regulations and giving more power to union bosses, Romney said. Plus, he “rammed through a disastrous national health care plan,” he said. These “European answers” are not the solution to America’s problems, Romney said.
‘This president’s first answer to every problem is to take power from you and your local government and your state,” he said, so “so-called experts” in Washington can make decisions for you.
Government spending now consumes almost 40 percent of the economy, Romney noted.
“We’re only inches away from ceasing to be a free economy,” he said.
Romney promised to cap federal spending at 20 percent of the economy “and finally balance the budget.” He pledged to return responsibility for dozens of government programs to the states, cut taxes on businesses, modernize regulations and promote America’s trade interests.
“It’s time for a president who cares more about American workers than he does about America’s union bosses,” Romney said.
He said he believes in an America where freedom and opportunity give people “confidence in a better tomorrow.”
“I have lived it,” he said.
He noted how he started his own private equity firm 27 years ago, growing the company from 10 employees to hundreds of employees. The firm, Bain Capital , helped other businesses, from startups to large companies going through tough times, he said. Sometimes these efforts succeeded and sometimes they didn’t, but Romney said he “learned what works in the real world and what doesn’t.
Care Plan Templates - News

Romney has defended his health care plan in Massachusetts — and its mandate on individuals to buy insurance — even though it provided the template for President Obama's national plan so despised by Republicans. He has continued to maintain that
His Massachusetts health care plan was a template for Obama's health care plan. The fact that it was a state solution, not a federal solution, doesn't satisfy opponents of big government. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin took a swipe at Romney today
Certainly the cost of a health care plan has risen several hundred percent during the period. We, during our administration, were about the business of correcting such abuses. Staff, upon the election of the current team, solicited them to participate
A few weeks ago Romney offered a health care plan: It consisted of vague platitudes and fantastical promises that few health policy analysts would take seriously. And you know what? He'll get away with it, at least in the Republican primaries.
“To this day, Romney supports big government solutions to health care and opposes pro-growth tax code reform – positions that are simply opposite to those supported by true economic conservatives,” the report reads. The Massachusetts health-care plan

Recovery planning template
Hi folks.
Over on The Art of Life Itself I’ve posted a new resource for practitioners, recovery coaches, mentors and service users – a recovery planning template.
Recovery plans are interesting as they differ quite significantly from their cousins; care plans and treatment plans. Often these differences are not acknowledged, and a recovery plan becomes a care plan in all but name.
I’ve included “Five Principles of Recovery Planning” to help put some clear space between the two approaches.
I hope you find it useful – feedback is welcomed and will help tune future iterations of the resource.
Take care,
Stephen
PS In the next day or so I’ll be adding an example plan to demonstrate how the resource can be used.
It is a very neat and clear design. However I cannot be the only practitioner who will say “That’s what I’ve been doing all along, that’s real care planning, that is. It’s client centred, goal and strengths based, evidence based, responsive to dynamic needs assessment, fitting full square with ethical and professional principles, ensuring mutuality, clarity of purpose and identifying clearly the responsibility that the client takes and the expectations that the practitioner will fulfil.”
The vital thing I think to emerge from the Recovery Movement is the validation for the practitioner who is enthusiastic and passionate and does not regard all these attributes (e.g. of a good assessment or a good care plan) as merely technical details to be mechanically repeated like reps in the gym but as obvious pre-requisites that are consistent with an over-arching sense of purpose. Practices or standards that miss any of these good details will jar with the recovery practitioner, who is likely to say in the team meeting or in supervision “Don’t you think our care plan template needs refreshing. It seems to be missing on …The last x number of clients have all given feedback to the effect that they want …”
At the very least, I would hope that your template stimulates a comparison by current practitioners with their local standards, and perhaps some inter-agency discussions to ensure that clients get the best they can out of us.
