Like being a freshman again, only better.
So. You guys. My reunion . It was amazing. Like I literally don’t know how I’m going to sum it all up in one post. In any case I’m going to try and I’ll warn you now, it’s going to be long and full of ridiculous pictures and silly things and bottles of beer (no I did not drink any, ew) and DU pride and just yes, let’s begin.
Thursday : Let’s just say I woke up early (4am) and it was a long day of horrendous travel and plane delays and lost information (stupid Continental) and tears (all me) before I finally made it to Greensboro, North Carolina around 10:30 pm. Jen picked me up and in no time we were catching up and laughing and having a good time. We went back to her place, drank a bottle of wine, watched crappy TV and stayed up way too late chatting before finally sleeping at 2am. Only for our alarms to go off three hours later.
Friday
Eventually it was time for lunch and a class photo and a class of ’06 keg and games on the quad and it was just so nice. Fast forward a bit and it was dinnertime! And in the dining hall no less, quite the classy transformation. I mean if the dining hall served alcohol when I was in school there would be all sorts of trouble, haha.
Anyhoo, after dinner there was more hugging and dancing and an open bar and a chocolate fountain and a ridiculous game of flip cup with multiple classes (ridiculous like 60+ people, insanity) and catching up with friends and finding out that classmates read my blog (hi friends!) and just yes, pure happiness.
the seven best friends a girl could ask for. : There was breakfast and there was packing and there was me trying not to get all teary. I hate goodbyes. I hate when amazing weekends come to an end. I just don’t like it one bit. Eventually Jen and I bid adieu to Denison and made a brief stop in Columbus where Jen got to catch up with some high school friends and I got to visit with my cousin Bryan. It was just the buffer to goodbyes that I needed. Afterwards Jen and I hit the road and had one hell of a drive full of more sing a longs and crazy radio shows and quality girl chat and a very us sort of photo to sum it all up:
We got back to Greensboro late, grabbed some fast food, shared a bottle of wine and watched A Single Man : The end of my weekend. After about 10 hours of sleep Jen and I finally got up, grabbed a quick lunch before she dropped me off at the airport. Luckily my flights home weren’t traumatic or delayed and I finished a second book (hurrah) and eventually I made it home late at night. I was sad to see the weekend go but just so blessed to have experienced the weekend like I did.
