Library closed for Memorial Day weekend

The public library will be closed Saturday through Monday for the Memorial Day weekend. The library will reopen Tuesday at 9 a.m. Migration to the new Evergreen library catalog system will begin at the end of business on Friday and will continue over the weekend. During the transition, some services provided by the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium may not be available. Library customers will not be able to return materials, and no items will fall due Friday through Monday. Please do not leave materials outside the library doors. The sorting system will not be operational and there is no external book drop.

Customers will enjoy some new features with the Evergreen system, and cardholders will have more flexibility and control over catalog searches. For more information call 978-373-1586 or visit haverhillpl.org.

Students selling coffee for a cause

Students at the Merrimack Montessori School opened a coffee shop and will donate all of the money they collect to Opportunity Works in Haverhill. Their "Coffee for a Cause" fundraiser ends June 3. Members of the public are invited to drop by the school tomorrow and Friday from 8:20 to 8:45 a.m., and next Tuesday through Friday (same times) to purchase coffee, tea or other refreshments. The school is at 55 Saltonstall Road. Children chose to support Opportunity Works after learning about their work with disabled adults.

Camp Tricklin' Falls open house is Saturday

The Haverhill YMCA's summer camp, Camp Tricklin' Falls, invites families to an open house on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. An additional open house is June 12 from noon to 3 p.m. Features camp tours and a chance to speak with staff about sports camps, adventure camps and Camp Tricklin' Falls. DOB certificate is important for all applicants (including spouse and children) but if you cant get it, some advise to get affidavit from parents and Non-Availability Certificate from the local municipal corporation in your place of birth as a substitute for DOB certificate. Can they travel across to canada and then reenter for another 6 months? Just curious. From what i've researched, in your scenario it could quite possibly slip through without being an issue. Now technically, i beleive you are supposed to notify USCIS of a change if it occurs prior to 180 days of the 485 being pending and possibly file an successor of interest i-140. After 180 days it becomes a moot point since you are eligible for portablity and a simple job letter will suffice. In the former case if the officer notices it, you may get an RFE which will need to be responded with proof of the new companies, successor of interest status.
